Here's a good look at the now-destroyed fireplace that was built by people who must have believed that a micro-tornado might strike it and hence summoned the God of Large Structures to cast a truly epic mass of concrete upon which to rest it.

Today we got permits to build a new garage! Photos and progress updates will be posted here for your amusement. This is Kristin's and my first home improvement adventure and it's already proving to be everything it's cracked up to be!

So, if your birthday is drawing near, uh..., you can expect a FREE tour of the completed structure! Yay!

Plans are drawn up for a two-car garage with a third car garage space used as a workshop. And for all you geeks out there: 220VAC. W00t! We've chosen a FLAT top roof (much to the dismay of many, many friends and family) with the expectation that a 5KWh passive solar array system will reside up there, nicely hidden from street view. Pass along all your home-improvement karma!!!
